I haven’t this beer in ages but saw it on tap at the Flying Saucer Pub in Fort Worth, Texas (May 8, 2018) and is better than I remembered, downright magical.
Incredible spice-laden aroma, with bits of citrus, coriander, cloves, wheat, pineapple. The aroma reminds me of hefeweizen but without the bananas.
The flavor is even better, just a little bit sour but with a balancing bite of black pepper.
Luscious full-mouth feel, a very sensual beer.
4.9% ABV according to the bar menu, which makes it a great session beer.
Recently brewed again in Austin 1, which is pretty awesome. I remember first falling in love with this beer when I lived in the Austin area from 1997-2001, and Pierre Celis’ beer was truly something special, unlike anything else available at the time. So it’s pretty cool to see it, not only available, but made in Austin again.
