KG5JST Radio Reception Logs, April 19, 2018, UTC

Introduction: Unless other noted, all times/dates below are in UTC, all frequencies are in kilohertz, the mode is AM, and my QTH is in EM15ep in far Northwest Oklahoma City

Most of my listening is done via ultralight shortwave radio receivers (my favorite of late is my CCrane Skywave), but I also sometimes use my Yaesu FT-817 or a standard car radio.

Reporting on the transition from Cuban President Raul Castro to Miguel Diaz-Canel. BBC reports that in his first address, Diaz-Canel praised both Fidel and Raul Castro as well as his intention to continue Cuban socialist revolution. But interestingly Diaz-Canel announced that he will be picking his own council of state, something that the BBC reporter saw as a sign that he will actually be in power and not just a figure head. — Later on, a story about the King of Swaziland formally changing the name of the country to eSwanti.
