I’m working hard to keep better logs (and then to work with the data to come up with better reports), so here is what I have to report on my radio hobby activities in December 2015.
Amateur (Ham) Radio
- 9 US contacts (with my handheld Baofeng UV-5Ra radio), with a mix of FM simplex and repeater operation, including several mobile contacts during the EARS (Edmond Amateur Radio Society) 2 Meter sprint contest.
- 2 logins to the EARS Monday Information Net, along with 2 failed attempts to login to the Route 66 10-10 HF net.
- A contact with W6KM in California (via the RCFORB remote amateur radio hosted by the Methow Valley Amateur Radio Club in Washington state)
- A contact with Haiti (HH90IARU) via the Monticello, NY station of RemoteHamRadio.com
Shortwave (and other) Radio Listening
- Using my own equipment
- USA – WTWW, US government time station WWV, WWCR, W0ERE, Radio Marti, WXK85
- Cuba – Radio Havana Cuba, Radio Rebelde, HM01 (likely Cuban Spy Numbers),
- Mexico – XEPPM
- Canada – Canadian government time station CHU
- Sao Tome e Principe – Voice of America
- Using internet-based remote equipment (SDR, RCForb, Globaltuners, etc.)
- USA – WQHE227, WWV, WWVH, WHRI, WRMI, WBCQ
- UK – BBC Radio Cambridgeshire, BBC Radio 4
- France – France Inter, Radio Monte Carlo, Radio France Info, Radio France Bleu —- I was able to log several of these stations during their final days of broadcasting on medium wave (AM) radio.
- Romania – Radio Romania International, Antena Satelor
- Germany – Europe One (a French station that is broadcast in Longwave from “Longwave Transmitter Europe One” across the border in Germany)
- Austria – Radio Osterreich International
- Poland – Polskie Radio 1

- Unknown location (possible Europe) – “Radio Alice”
- Anguilla – Caribbean Beacon
