Wikiepdia: Shot at Dawn memorial
I don’t have time to post more about this (there’s so much I want to say), but it is a sad and mostly untold story. I was especially moved by reading the story of Harry Farr and also seeing the pictures of the memorial itself which has a statute of Hurbert Burden who was only 17 years old when he shot by a firing squad for the “crime” of desertion.

Daily Telegraph: Pardoned: the 306 soldiers shot at dawn for ‘cowardice’
The pardon happened in 2006. (this story is very good, especially because of the very good picture of the memorial)
There’s something wrong with the link. Here’s (I hope) a working one.
