Unfortunately there is also some tragic news out today as well… AlJazeera.net: Iraq captors say US hostage killed (this hostage is not one of the CPT members, but is one of the most recent folks who have been captured in Iraq)
I don’t understand why those taking these hostages do not see that violence is not the answer. Iraq needs a Gandhi or Dr. King right now so badly, someone to lead by showing a better way. There is no doubt in my mind that the imperialist western powers of the USA and the United Kingdom are unlawfully and immorally occupying Iraq and have NO RIGHT TO BE THERE, however the righteousness of the cause for Iraqi liberation is undermined when the insurgents use the same violent methods that the US uses.
