LA Times/Yahoo News: California Legislature OKs Gay Marriage
It would be a pretty gutsy move for him to do so, but I’m hoping that Schwartzeneger might have second thoughts about vetoing this bill. If he actually signed it, it would be such a momentous thing for the largest state in the union to legalize gay marriage and would most definitely make him a hero to at least half of California who currently is not in his fan club. (much as Republican Governor Ryan will be in the Illinois history books for his stopping the death penalty in his state)
Hmmm…. not sure it would make Arnold my hero, but I do hope he allows the bill to go through. If he doesn’t, it’s just going to press the fight on stronger on both sides. Too much time has been “wasted” on this issue anyway. Let’s just get over the fact that people can get their tax advantages with whomever they want and accept the fact that adults have sex with whomever they want regardless of what the law says anyway and move on with our lives.
